Pleasure Island 2010...

2010 will see a new ride at Pleasure Island, and for as long as I can remember, its the first new ride thats not a 'spin & spew'!

Our new indoor haunted ride Blombergs Tomb of Terror promises to terrify even
the bravest passengers as the cars whisk you around the graveyard,
the quarry and the tomb of torment*.

Sounds just like a ghost train to me.

They're also getting an outdoor Ice Rink and new Magic Show. Adult entry prices are now at £17.50, £1 more than last year. (Lightwater Valley are charging £20 next year... Small parks are getting to expensive nowadays, they're driving custom away!)

Notice the little asterix after the description of the new ride? Randomly, here's what its for:

*The management at Pleasure Island reserves the right to change/alter attractions without prior notice.

How odd.... Image

Pleasure Island struggles to get custom on a decent day, let alone increasing the price. I don't think Pleasure Island's included in the Flamingo Land annual pass this year either. I wonder where the new ride will be located.

I like how the address for the page still says new for 2008, and the page title is 'My Web Page'.

Gavin from CF said the name "Blombergs Tomb of Terror" used to be the name of a very old Haunted Maze at Flamingoland - I know they like to dump all their old crap at Pleasure Island, but surely not this?

If they dont care about PI, they should just sell it, instead of letting it rot.

A little update on the new ride for Pleasure Island:

"Pleasure Island is very excited about this major new attraction. This indoor ghost train ride is suitable for the over 7s (as long as they are very brave over 7s of course). Be on the look out for ghosts and ghouls as the cars whisk you around the track through the six scary scenes including the Graveyard, the Quarry and the Chamber of Doors. Full of action and gore, Shrieksville is a must when visiting Pleasure Island this year"

I have heard that Black Hole, formally at Alton Towers, was coming to Pleasure Island.  Maybe Shrieksville is the Black Hole.  Ice rink sounds like a good idea.  At least they havn't crammed another flat ride in, and actually got a coaster in, even though it's a ghost train!  Will be going again this year, pitty prices have gone up.  I'm guessing Low Season is £16.50 and High Season £17.50.  ImageImage

What? I'd be pretty certain that the Ghost Train isn't the Black Hole from Alton....

Even if they did buy that coaster, its hardly a step forward for the park!
