Park Merchandise

Postby Chris on Sat Jul 28, 2007 1:16 am

What do you think to the available park merchandise?

Should the park incorporate merchandising for other rides and attractions as well as their entertainers?

What merchandise would you like to see being sold at the park?

Interesting. To begin with clicking on that link caused my PC to freeze up. But that might be my PC, or my ISP as opposed to the Link.

Well, if that is all that CL can offer in the way of Park Merchandise / Souvenirs, I don't know why they are bothering.

Just tested the link, and it works fine for me.

I agree, the park merchandise available on there seems to be tacky and overly priced to say the least - or maybe that was just the impression that the badly structured site left me with.  :P

I prefer my own mock-up Millennium Roller Coaster mouse mat: :D

They need to understand their audience. Though, maybe they ticked a wrong box somewhere for coffee coasters rather than the big steel kind.

"Overly Priced"? Thats putting it lightly.

£7.99 for a Mousemat? You can buy mousemats from Wilkos in town, TWO in a pack for .99pence. You can't tell me it costs £7.00 to endorse a plain mouse mat with a Park image!!!!

If anyone shells out eight quid for something that they can get two of for less than a quid in town, then they have more money than sense

And I've just noticed this:

Please note the following POST AND PACKAGE charges apply to all mail order shipments:
IF YOUR TOTAL ORDER IS BELOW £10 ADD £1 POST AND PACKAGE
IF YOUR TOTAL ORDER IS BETWEEN £10 AND £20 ADD £2 POST AND PACKAGE
IF YOUR TOTAL ORDER IS ABOVE £20 ADD £5 POST AND PACKAGE

So that £7,99 mousemat will actually cost you £8,99. . You can buy 18 mousemats from Wilkos for that.

From what I've heard, the merchandise is nothing to do with CL. It's a venture between the Entertainments team and Photo Genius. They also have a  stall on Skegness Pier and I wanted to get my youngest a Jellikin shirt but was told I had to get one from F.I.

When I eventually got one, the guy in charge was saying that all the kids always ask for signed photo's of the entertainments team, and they didn't have anything like that available. So to keep them happy they came up with this.

I think it's a good idea. It's a memento for the kids at the end of the day, and I suppose CL might keep an eye on it to see if there is a demand for official F.I. merchandise. If so they may bring it back.

They do something similar with the Redcoats at Butlins. Not sure on the prices they charge. I'll have to find out.

If my memory serves correctly didn't there used to be a merchandise shop in the pyramid? When you enter the main entrance to the pyramid wasn't it up the walkway too the left of the Jellykins Roller Coaster?

I remember there being a merchandise shop to the left of the Entrance to the old 'Piazza', which is now that '97p or less' shop.

Yup! Thats exactley where I was thinking of Martyn! It was a small wee shop! However was still a merchandise shop. Image.

I would love to see the old Gallon ship shop turned into a new merchandise shop.  That would be excellent!

I don't think that the previous merchandise is available anymore since the web page no longer exists, and it seems that the previous items have been replaced with merchandise featuring the pirates and parrots from the new stage show. These can be personalised with photographs of guests taken inside the parrot zoo beside the Lagoon stage.

Here's a selection showing what's on offer.
