Now that's what I call a rather large repair bill! It's a crazy amount to be spending on fixing a ride. One thing to remember however is that the ride is now rather old!

I like how you broke down the repair bill into number of riders Chris! It will take a while to claw back the cost of replacing this part. Unless the ride has some sort of Insurance or Warranty - doubt it though.

IMO it's also one of the most popular rides though. It runs pretty much consistently even on quiet days, so on those longer summer nights it must make lots for the park. It's not just how much the repair bill costs, it's how much money it's losing the longer it remains closed.

But again, I feel Fantasy Island are to blame for this. If they were to service the rides during the winter months (which they are ment to), this wouldn't happen!

It exactly the same as not getting your car serviced, and I've learned my lesson from that!

I'll give them one thing though, Chloe had her car serviced, then a week later the gear box broke, you cant actually tell if anything is wrong with a gear box, until it breaks. So I wont blame Fantasy Island for when the Beasts gear box went 2 years ago.

Well its clear to see that it isn't being removed, its been completely stripped down, though the arms aren't anywhere in sight.

If what SLY said is right, I guess the length of downtime now depends totally on whether the part is in stock, or how long it'll take to be manufactured.

Seriously, the amount of downtime AI experienced last year was bad. But this is insane. It'll be interesting to see how long it remains open before it's packed down for the winter again.

The longer Beast remains SBNO contributes to what will likely be a bad year for the rides general profitability. Having said that, it might mean that they'll keep Jubilee Odyssey and AC open later during busier summer nights to counter balance the effect. Although they're still on the opposite side of the park, it's not like it's that far from the main fairground. I guess it just depends how busy it'll be over summer, but judging by what Martyn said in his trip report, the resort is already heaving with people.
