Leisure Skate is coming to Fantasy Island with it's new synthetic ice rink (first of it's kind in the UK!)

How long has the one by the pier been there now?

I cant believe how much they're trying to 'big up' synthetic ice skating, when in actual fact, its crap and nothing like the real thing.

I wonder where it will go? Its next thursday it starts, so I'll have a sneak round at the weekend.

Edit: Ok, so I missed the "Pyramid Arena" on its page, duh! Cant imagine its going to be very big if its in the Pyramid!?

There is a synthetic ice rink at Twinlakes nr Melton Mowbary when i went a few months ago, not sure how they are claiming first in the UK

So where abouts outside is it going to be?

One other thing, how come 'real' stats/records for the rides weren't allowed in our Ride Description competition because they'd have to be changed if bigger rides were built etc, yet its ok to claim this as the 'UK's first' Synthetic Ice Rink?

^ It could have been built before the one in Skegness, and toured the UK. Making it technically the UK's first synthetic ice rink, as Fantasy Island isn't the first place to host it.

Yes that could be true Chris, but Jubilee Odyssey is the biggest Suspended coaster in Europe, and AI is the tallest ride in the UK, but they wont allow that on the website.

Well I've had a snoop round and there's no sign of where the rink will be constructed. I guess it could be built in the second car park behind the Waltzers? (or where the Waltzers are as they could be gone after this week).

I think someone should turn the Super Bowl building (the old red arcade down the bottom of Sea Lane) into a indoor (real) ice rink. That was just a brain wave I had when walking past it yesterday!

Oh right, whats happened to the Safari Train then? Has that been relocated or binned?
