The new synthetic ice rink which was
opened at Fantasy Island last week is situated beside
The Beast. Unfortunately, this has resulted in both the
Safari Land Train and the
Circus Convoy ride being removed and therefore unavailable for guests to use. A mini quad bike area has also opened beside the new ice rink. Aimed at the under 8's, it is another pay per ride attraction priced at £3 for just under thirty minutes. Introducing pay per ride attractions such as these devalues the benefits of the
wristband promotion which was
launched earlier this year. Fortunately, both the skating rink and mini quad bikes are only temporary attractions, but are expected to be at the park until the end of October.

The Safari Train ride which was recently relocated to the main fairground from the market has had its previous site gutted. The remaining foliage, station structure and fencing have all been removed. This confirms that this is a permanent relocation. The removed foliage has not been relocated with the ride itself.
The footprint of Safari train is large enough to accommodate another ride attraction. However, due to the obstacle of Millennium Coasters supports it is unlikely we will see a major thrill ride here in the near future. At this point we can only assume that the space will be used for new market stalls.
