Trip Planner Applet

Enjoy the thrills and spills of Fantasy Island without the complicated price plans, expense, and the disappointment of height restrictions.

Introducing the 'Trip Planner Applet' our new program/application to help you plan your trip to Fantasy Island. By downloading our applet you will be able to select what you’re going to ride, and how many times, generating a through price plan for your day. This price plan will tell you how much cash you’re going to need, and just how many tokens. Use this to effectively cut the costs of your day out.

One of the most frequent questions we get asked here at Island Quest is about the height restrictions for particular rides. So, we have included this in the applet too! Simply punch in your height and to avoid disappointment you will be told exactly what ride you can or cannot experience.

The Trip Planner was fully developed and coded by Chris Chapman exclusively for Island Quest. All thanks and credit go to him, as without Chris it would not have been possible.

Click here to download the applet.

Requires Microsoft .NET framework to be installed.

“its been eventful , but for all the wrong reasons”

1, 2, 3 it’s here the long awaited 2006 off season ... the best part of the year I’m sure you will all agree! Let’s take this moment to look back at 2006, if I could turn back time ...There’s no doubt it's been eventful, but for all the wrong reasons. Now usually it takes the park a good month to get everything back to normality, by April things are usually sound, however this year even at the end of April things were no better than the off season. Odyssey had not one but two rollbacks which delayed its opening until May, this had a domino effect on the rest of the park causing them to not have sufficient time to revive other attractions from the winter. To top it all off once upon a time in 2006 the Eye on the Coast got pulled down, another attraction following G-Force to the grave. Just brilliant!

Let’s think about the summer, it was the warmest July on record ever in the UK and things were shining brightly at the park. Busy as usual although the rides seemed to be less of an attraction in comparison to the market. Apart from that nasty 5 weeks of downtime from Millennium Coaster it was a summer of uptime for the rides.

To follow the pattern of this year’s record downtime; Odyssey and the surrounding rides closed early for the season due to lack of demand. Time to sit out another cold lonely winter... Roll on 2007!

Casino, Hotel, Water Park and Retail Development

Casino, Hotel, Water Park and Retail Development

A two phase development has been proposed for Fantasy Island costing an initial £15m and an additional £25m for the second phase. This proposal consists of a 150-bedroom hotel and retailing complex including three restaurants and a show bar. Funding for the hotel has been agreed to be backed by US investors.

In addition to the hotel an alongside casino, and 50 self-catering apartments have also been proposed. Think again if you’re worried that this development may prevent any new rides for the near future as an indoor water park is also planned.

Plans for this development can be seen below:

Something Big is Coming

Something Big is Coming

We have recently received exclusive information from our contacts at Fantasy Island that planning is underway for a new major attraction. The park is keeping quiet on the details, and as yet we are unsure when this will be publicly announced. From what we’ve heard from the park it seems this development could indeed be a new roller coaster or something equally exciting.

For all you who long to see the day when wristbands are on offer at Fantasy Island let me tell you that this is in fact something that the park are considering. This may however, not take place in the upcoming season, however, rest assured it is on the to do list.

Weekends Only

Even though we don’t want to admit it the 2006 season is drawing to an end, as such the park have made the decision to close down Odyssey, Absolutely Insane, and Amazing Confusion on weekdays. This will continue from now until the 21st October, for the last week of the season they will be open daily. However, it appears even on weekends these attractions are failing to open.
