Win Fantasy Island Wristbands

Win Fantasy Island Wristbands

Fantasy Island is pleased to offer, exclusively to Islandquest.co.uk members, a chance to win wristbands for use at the park on all of the rides. The competition is simple - write a ride description for one or as many rides as you like to be used on the official website (www.fantasyisland.co.uk) and you will win an adult wristband per ride description that is used.

There are no limits to how many rides you can write descriptions for, you can do one or all of them. Do not worry about technical details such as cost or height restrictions in your descriptions, these are already completed and will be updated/added to each ride soon. The park are looking for flavourful and informative descriptions approximately around 3 to 4 paragraphs in length.

To participate, simply email all entries to davidhough@fantasyislandresort.co.uk, clearly outlining your name, address, contact number and which rides you are submitting descriptions for. Please also post descriptions in the thread, but they will not be considered unless they are also submitted to the above email address. Closing date for this competition is the 24th April 2009. All winners will be posted in this thread when the competition is over and winners contacted to be awarded their prize(s).

There may be more competitions for Island Quest fans in the future should this one prove successful! Have fun and good luck!

Visit the Island Quest forums for more information and to share your ideas.

Jubilee Odyssey Stalls During Testing

Island Quest has learned that Jubilee Odyssey, the UK's tallest SLC and the parks main attraction, has stalled.

The ride, which stands at 167ft, began it's first test run in preperation for the 2009 season. It appears that the rides train lost momentum and has stalled on the cobra roll.

The park have told Island Quest that the maintenance team are in the process of retrieving the train as well as finding out the cause. Despite this, the park remain confident that the ride will reopen for Easter.

As you can see in the pictures, the train has currently been dragged backwards through part of the Cobra Roll and has currently been secured in place in the first part of the element.

Bingo Hall Revamp?

Island Quest Member Leon has recently made a trip down to Fantasy Island! Leon has managed to get some pictures of the latest development at Fantasy Island - Refurbishment works too the Bingo Hall.

These buildings works have yet too be confirmed by the park as a refurbishment, however we could see somthing new take on this key location at the Fantasy Island Resort. It has to be said however, the fact that the old Bingo machines are still on-site point's towards a refurbishment of what was a rather outdated decor!
