Rhombus' Rocket reopened at the weekend after significant maintenance work has taken place on the ride over the last few months. The powered coaster has remained closed since late April, when the train stopped half way around the track; with riders on board who had to be rescued. Reports indicate that the incident was caused due to low insulation readings along the copper line which runs around the track. In related news, Rhombus' Rocket now features on ride photography, so riders of the popular ride can purchase souvenir photographs. Unfortunately, it appears that on ride photography for
Jubilee Odyssey is no longer available.

Amazing Confusion, the world’s first Mondial Ultra Max, has reopened this week after significant maintenance work has been carried out over the past 10 months. The ride first closed in June last year, when just
one section of seats was removed to gain access to the main arm. In September, it became apparent that the problem was particularly significant as the
majority of the ride was deconstructed with parts being sent away to Mondial, the ride manufacturer, to be repaired or replaced. The ride was
still in pieces throughout winter, with little to no indication when the ride would reopen. Earlier this month, reports indicated that
Amazing Confusion was being reconstructed and three weeks later the ride reopened to guests.
Elsewhere in the park, both rollercoasters have been open for the past few weeks seeing both open late into the night. The park have also introduced rotational ride operation for a number of rides during off peak times, whereby staff move between rides so that each ride opens during specific times. A few rides still remain unavailable, including
Rhombus' Rocket,
Monkey Jump and the
Elephant Ride. Nonetheless, the park have added
a page to their website to indicate which rides are unavailable.

Butlins have introduced a ban on bumping into other riders on the dodgems at each of their resorts. Introducing the ride to the UK holiday camps in 1927, Billy Butlin may have been a pioneer of his time as the ride is now a common sight at travelling fairs up and down the country. Due to new health and safety restrictions in place at the holiday camps, riders will now need to drive in a more orderly fashion; avoiding contact with other riders for fear of being banned. Defending the decision the resort director has cited incidents of "broken bones, due to people bumping into each other". There are currently no known plans to introduce this ban elsewhere.
